Section 1

The City of Manchester (M56 North Cheshire Motorway) (Bowdon to Wythenshawe Airport Link Road Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1988 is hereby confirmed with modification.

Section 2

The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as “the Scheme”) is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme, as modified, with its accompanying plan are deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham St, London SW1P 3PY and at the offices of the Manchester City Council, Town Hall, Albert Square, Manchester.

Section 3

The Scheme will come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

Section 4

This Instrument may be cited as the City of Manchester (M56 North Cheshire Motorway) (Bowdon to Wythenshawe Airport Link Road Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1988 Confirmation Instrument 1989.

Section 1

For the purpose of connecting the Motorway with the new access road at the places stated in the Schedule hereto, the Council are authorised to provide special roads for the use of traffic of classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 along the routes described in the Schedule hereto (these special roads being in the Scheme referred to as “the Connecting Roads”).

Section 2

The centre lines of the Connecting Roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.

Section 3

In this Scheme—

(i) “the Motorway”

(ii) “the new access road”

(iii) “the deposited plan”

Section 4

This Scheme may be cited as “The City of Manchester (M56, North Cheshire Motorway) (Bowdon to Wythenshawe–Airport Link Road Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1988.”
