In this Order:—
(1) All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2)
(i) “classified road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii) “unclassified road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road or classified road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal or classified roads but is an unclassified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;
(iii) “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA 10/2–WO71 marked “The Chester-Bangor Trunk Road (A55) (Rhuallt Hill Improvement and Slip Roads) Order 1989” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Wales and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
(iv) “the main new trunk road” and “the slip roads” have the meanings given in article 1 of this Order;
(v) “the new roundabout” means the roundabout mentioned in article 1(b) of this Order;
(vi) “the new trunk roads” means the new highways mentioned in article 1 of this Order and “a new trunk road” means one of those highways;
(vii) “the trunk road” means the Chester-Bangor Trunk Road (A55).
