Section 1Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Notification of Infectious Diseases) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st January 1990.

(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations ” means the Public Health (Notification of Infectious Diseases) (Scotland) Regulations 1988( ).

Section 2Amendment of the principal Regulations

The principal Regulations shall be amended as follows:—

(a) in Part I of Schedule 1 (diseases notifiable by virtue of these Regulations), after “Leptospirosis” there shall be inserted “Lyme Disease” and after “Tetanus” there shall be inserted “Toxoplasmosis” ;

(b) in Schedule 2 (notification of infectious disease), after “Leptospirosis” there shall be inserted “Lyme Disease” and after “Tetanus” there shall be inserted “Toxoplasmosis” .
