The European Parliamentary Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 1989

Section 1

This Order may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 21st April 1989.

Section 2

The European Parliamentary Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 1979 is hereby revoked.

Section 3

In this Order:

“the 1986 Regulations ” means the European Parliamentary Elections Regulations 1986 ; and

“the 1983 Act ” means the Representation of the People Act 1983 .

Section 4

Each of the forms set out in Schedule 1 to this Order is hereby prescribed as the version partly in Welsh and partly in English which shall be used at a European Parliamentary election in Wales, in place of:

(a) in the case of form 1, the notice required by rule 29(5) of the parliamentary elections rules in Schedule 1 to the 1983 Act (voting compartment notice) , as applied by regulation 5 of, and Schedule 1 to, the 1986 Regulations;

(b) in the case of forms 2 and 3, forms E and F (official poll card for an elector and for a proxy), respectively, in Schedule 2 to the Representation of the People Regulations 1986 , as applied by regulation 5 of, and Schedule 2 to, the 1986 Regulations; and

(c) in the case of forms 4, 5 and 6, forms H, J and K (declarations of identity), respectively, in Schedule 2 to the Representation of the People Regulations 1986, as applied by regulation 5 of, and Schedule 2 to, the 1986 Regulations.

Section 5

Each of the forms set out in Schedule 2 to this Order is hereby prescribed as the Welsh version which may be used at a European Parliamentary election in Wales in place of the forms prescribed by the following provisions in the parliamentary elections rules in Schedule 1 to the 1983 Act, as applied by regulation 5 of, and Schedule 1 to, the 1986 Regulations, which provisions are:

(a) in the case of form 1, rule 35(1)(a),

(b) in the case of form 2, rule 35(1)(b),

(c) in the case of form 3, rule 35(2),

(d) in the case of forms 4, 5 and 6, the form of nomination paper, the form of directions for the guidance of the voters in voting and the form of declaration to be made by the companion of a blind voter, respectively, set out in the Appendix to those rules.

Section 6

The forms set out in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Order, except forms 1, 2 and 3 in Schedule 2, may be used with such modifications as circumstances require.

Pleidleisiwch i un ymgeisydd yn unig. Peidiwch â rhoi unrhyw farc arall ar y papur pleidleisio neu fe all na chaiff eich pleidlais ei chyfrif.

Section 5

Os bydd i chi drwy gamgymeriad ddifetha eich papur pleidleisio, ewch a'i ddangos i'r swyddog llywyddu a gofyn am un arall.
