Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the General Medical Council (Constitution) Amendment Order 1989 and, subject to article 2(3) below, shall come into force on 13th April 1989.

Section 2 Amendment of the General Medical Council (Constitution) Order 1979

The General Medical Council (Constitution) Order 1979 shall be amended as follows:–

(1) in article 2( a ) there shall be substituted for the number“50” the number“54”;

(2) in article 2( b ) there shall be substituted for the number“34” the number“35”; and

(3) with effect from 1st November 1989 in column 1 of the Schedule for“and the Faculty of Community Medicine” there shall be substituted“, the Faculty of Community Medicine and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.”.
