This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Acts 1978 and 1987 (Continuance) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 22nd March 1989.

The Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Acts 1978 and 1987 (Continuance) Order 1989
In this Order—
(a) “the temporary provisions of the 1978 Act ” means all the provisions of the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1978, except sections 5 and 28 to 36, Part III of Schedule 4, Schedules 5 and 6 and, so far as they relate to offences which are scheduled offences by virtue of the said Part III, sections 2, 6 and 7; and
(b) “the temporary provisions of the 1987 Act ” means Parts II and III of the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1987.
The temporary provisions of the 1978 Act except section 12, Schedule 1 andsection 24, and the temporary provisions of the 1987 Act, shall continue in force for a period of twelve months beginning with 22nd March 1989.
