Section 1
These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Weighing of Goods Vehicles and other Cargo) (Application to non-UK Ships) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 31st March 1989.

Section 2
The Merchant Shipping (Weighing of Goods Vehicles and other Cargo) Regulations 1988 (which apply only to ro/ro passenger ships which are operating as ships of Class II or II(A) within the meaning of the Merchant Shipping (Passenger Ship Construction and Survey) Regulations 1984 and are United Kingdom ships) shall apply also to ro/ro passenger ships which are operating as ships of those classes but which are not United Kingdom ships, while they are in a port in the United Kingdom.
