Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Teachers' Superannuation (Scotland) Amendment ( No. 2) Regulations 1989 and may be cited together with the Teachers' Superannuation (Scotland) Regulations 1977 to 1989( ) as the Teachers' Superannuation (Scotland) Regulations 1977 to 1989.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on 1st June 1989.

Section 2 Salary

In regulation 7 of the Teachers' Superannuation (Scotland) Regulations 1977( )—

(a) in paragraph (1), for the words “(2) and (3)” there shall be substituted the words “(2), (3) and (4)” ; and

(b) after paragraph (3) there shall be inserted the following paragraph:—

(4) In relation to a teacher who enters reckonable service on or after 1st June 1989, where his salary in the year ending on 5th April 1990, calculated in terms of paragraph (1), exceeds £60,000, the excess over that amount shall not be treated as salary of the teacher for the purposes of these Regulations.
