Section 1Citation and commencement
These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Local Councillors) Amendment Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st August 1990.

Section 2Amendment of the Social Security (Severe Disablement Allowance (Amendment) and Local Councillors Consequential) Regulations 1989
In paragraph (3) of regulation 3 of the Social Security (Severe Disablement Allowance (Amendment) and Local Councillors Consequential) Regulations 1989 (treatment of a local councillor’s allowance paid otherwise than weekly) for the words “In the case of a special responsibility allowance,” there shall be substituted the words “In the case of a basic allowance or a special responsibility allowance,”.
