Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Food Safety Act 1990 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1990.

(2) In this Order, references to sections and Schedules are references to sections and Schedules of the Food Safety Act 1990.

Section 2

The following provisions shall come into force on 3rd July 1990:

(a) for the purposes of section 13 (emergency control orders) sections 1 to 3, 4(2), 5, 6, 7(3), 20, 21(1), (5) and (6), 22, 29, 32 to 36, 41, 42, 44, 46, 48(1) to (3), 49(1) and (3) to (5), 50, 53(1) to (4), 57 and 58(1); and

(b) for the purposes of section 51 (amendment to the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 ) sections 1(1) and (2) and 53(1), paragraphs 29 and 30 of Schedule 3 and, so far as relating to those paragraphs, section 59(1).
