Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1990.

Section 2

In this Order “ the Act ” means the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

Section 3

Section 194(1) of the Act, insofar as it relates to paragraph 4 of Schedule 11, shall come into force on 26th February 1990.

Section 4

Section 164 of the Act shall come into force on 1st March 1990.

Section 5

(1) Section 165(3) to (9) of the Act and section 194(4), insofar as it relates to the repeal of sections 312 to 314 of, and Schedule 12 to, the Housing Act 1985 shall come into force on 1st March 1990.

(2) The repeal mentioned in paragraph (1) above does not have effect in relation to any financial year beginning before 1st April 1990.
