Section 1 Citation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Social Security Act 1989 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1990.

(2) In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires, references to sections and Schedules are references to sections of and Schedules to the Social Security Act 1989.

Section 2 Appointed days

The day appointed for the coming into force of–

(a) Schedule 4, paragraph 15(1)(a)(i) and (b) (recovery from damages etc. of sums equivalent to benefits) and section 22(7) so far as it relates to it, for the purpose only of authorising the making of regulations expressed to come into force on 9th July 1990, is 25th January 1990;

(b) the repeal in Schedule 9, and section 31(2) so far as it relates to it, of section 4(4) of the Social Security (Contributions) Act 1982 (annual review of contribu tions) is 1st February 1990; and

(c) Schedule 4, paragraph 21, in so far as not already in force, and section 22(7) so far as it relates to it, is 9th July 1990.
