This order may be cited as the Offshore Generating Stations (Exemption) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 31st March 1990.

The Offshore Generating Stations (Exemption) Order 1990
Section 36(1) of the Electricity Act 1989 (consent for construction, extension or operation of generating stations) shall not apply to a generating station which is—
(a) situated on an offshore installation; and
(b) used solely for the purpose of the supply of electricity to that offshore installation, or to that and any other offshore installation.
In this order, “offshore installation” has the same meaning as in the Mineral Workings (Offshore Installations) Act 1971 .
