The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Northamptonshire that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.

The A6 London–Inverness Trunk Road (Rothwell Interchange) Detrunking Order 1991
In this Order–
(1) each measurement of distance is measured along the route of the trunk road;
(2)
(i) “the deposited plan” means the plan folio numbered HA10/2E/337 marked “The A6 London–Inverness Trunk Road (Rothwell Interchange) Detrunking Order 1991” containing a key plan and one plan marked “Scheme Plan” and signed by authority of the Secretary of State and -deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
(ii) “the new trunk roads” means the trunk roads to be provided by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the trunk road order;
(iii) “the trunk road” means the London-Inverness Trunk Road (A6), known as Kettering Road, Rothwell; and
(iv) “the trunk road order” means the A6 London–Inverness Trunk Road (Rothwell Interchange and Slip Roads) Order 1990 .
This Order shall come into force on 3rd January 1992 and may be cited as the A6 London–Inverness Trunk Road (Rothwell Interchange) Detrunking Order 1991.
