Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) These Rules may be cited as the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors (Registered Fever Nurses and Nurses with Orthopaedic and Ophtalmic Qualifications) Amendment Rules 1991.

(2) In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires, “the principal Rules ” means the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Rules 1983 .

Section 2 Amendment of the principal Rules

(1) The principal Rules shall be amended in accordance with the following paragraphs of this Rule.

(2) In Rule 14(1) sub-paragraph (b) shall be amended by substituting “5, 8 or 9” for “5 or 8”.

(3) In Rule 14(2) for sub-paragraph (b) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph—

(b) where the person concerned is registered in Part 2, 4, 6 or 7 of the register, or holds—

(i) the Orthopaedic Nursing Certificate, or the Diploma of Orthopaedic Nursing awarded by the former Joint Examination Board of the British Orthopaedic Association and the Central Council for the Disabled or by the former Joint Examination Board of the British Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation, or

(ii) the Certificate of Proficiency, or Ophthalmic Nursing Diploma, awarded by the former Ophtalmic Nursing Board,

not less than one year

(4) In Rule 14A sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (8) shall be amended by inserting “9,” between “8,” and “12”.
