Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (Commencement No. 6 and Appointed Day) Order 1991.

Section 2

In this Order “ the Act ” means the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Section 3

The amendments made by sections 128, 130 and 132 of the Act, and section 162(2) of the Act in so far as it relates to the repeals to the Countryside Act 1968 and the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 in Part VI of Schedule 16 to the Act, shall come into force on 1st April 1991.

Section 4

(1) The day appointed under section 130(4) for the discharge of the respective functions of the Countryside Council for Wales and the Countryside Commission is 1st April 1991.

(2) The day appointed under section 131(3) for the discharge of the nature conservation functions of the Nature Conservancy Council for England, the Nature Conservancy Council for Scotland and the Countryside Council for Wales is 1st April 1991.
