Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Loans) (Amendment) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 17th April 1991.

Section 2

In paragraph 5 of the Schedule to the Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1990 for the definition of “European Community” there shall be substituted the following definition–

‘European Community’ means the territory comprised by the member states of the European Community as constituted from time to time and, as respects any period prior to the unification of the Federal Republic of Germany, the former German Democratic Republic;
