Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Act of Sederunt may be cited as the Act of Sederunt (Adoption of Children) (Amendment) 1992 and shall come into force on 21st May 1992.

(2) In this Act of Sederunt a paragraph referred to by number means the paragraph so numbered in the Act of Sederunt (Adoption of Children) 1984( ).

(3) This Act of Sederunt shall be inserted in the Books of Sederunt.

Section 2 Amendments

In paragraph 22—

(a) after sub-paragraph (1) insert the following sub-paragraph:—

(1A) When the report of the curator ad litem, in respect of a child who is free for adoption, has been received by the court, the Sheriff may order a diet of hearing to be fixed.

(b) in sub-paragraph (2) after the word “hearing” insert the words “referred to in sub-paragraphs (1) and (1A)”.
