Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st October 1992.

Section 2 Interpretation

In these Regulations—

“ the Act ” means the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act 1965; and

“the principal Regulations ” means the Registration of Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Regulations 1965 .

Section 3 Amendment of the principal Regulations

In regulation 2(2) of the principal Regulations, for the definition of “still-born child”, there shall be substituted the following definition:—

“still-born child” shall have the same meaning as in section 56(1) of the Act and “still-birth” shall be construed accordingly.

Section 4 Amendment of the principal Regulations

For the form set out in Schedule 6 to the principal Regulations, there shall be substituted the form set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

Section 5 Revocations

The following Regulations are hereby revoked:—

(a) regulation 3(1) of and Schedule 1 to the Registration of Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1984 ; and

(b) the Registration of Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1992 .
