These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles Tyres (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st January 1993.

The Motor Vehicles Tyres (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 1992
(1) The Motor Vehicles Tyres (Safety) Regulations 1984 shall be amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 2, before the definition of “maximum gross weight” there shall be inserted the following definition—
“designated approval mark” means a marking designated as an approval mark by regulation 5 of the Motor Vehicles (Designation of Approval Marks) Regulations 1979 and shown at item 33 in Schedule 4 to those Regulations;
(3) In regulation 3(1) after the words “unless the tyre” there shall be inserted “(a)” and at the end there shall be added—
or
(b) is permanently and legibly marked with a designated approval mark.
