Section 1

These regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Designation of Approval Marks) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st April 1992.

Section 2

The Motor Vehicles (Designation of Approval Marks) Regulations 1979 shall be further amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

Section 3

In Schedule 4 after item 29 there shall be added the following item–

In Schedule 5 after paragraph 11 there shall be added the following paragraph–

(12) In the marking relating to item 30 in Schedule 4–

(a) the number referred to in paragraph 2 above will be placed close to the rectangle, either below the letter "e', or to the left or the right of that letter; and

(b) there shall be added, above and close to the rectangle:–

(i) the letter “A” if the device is of the energy absorption type, or

(ii) the letter “S” if the device is of the air/water separator type.
