Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Newcastle and Gateshead and Sunderland and South Shields Water (Amendment of Local Enactments) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 31st March 1992.

Section 2 Amendment of references in local statutory provisions

As from 31st March 1992–

(a) any reference in any local statutory provision to Newcastle shall have effect as a reference to Sunderland; and

(b) any reference in any local statutory provision to the undertaking of Newcastle shall have effect as a reference to the undertaking of Sunderland.

Section 3 Repeal of local statutory provisions

The local statutory provisions referred to in the Schedule hereto are repealed to the extent indicated in that Schedule with effect from 31st March 1992.
