Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (Schools) Act 1992 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitional Provision) Order 1993.

Section 2

In this Order “the 1980 Act ” means the Education Act 1980 and “the 1992 Act ” means the Education (Schools) Act 1992.

Section 3

Subject to article 4 of this Order, sections 14 and 17 of, paragraphs 7 to 9 (so far as they are not already in force) of Schedule 1 to, paragraphs 1 to 3 of Schedule 2 to and (so far as it relates to those provisions) section 9(7) of, paragraphs 2 and 3 (so far as they are not already in force) and 4 of Schedule 4 to and (so far as it relates to those provisions and is not already in force) section 21(7) of the 1992 Act shall come into force on 1st May 1993.

Section 4

Nothing in article 3 above shall affect the continued operation of regulations made under section 8 of the 1980 Act until those regulations are revoked by regulations made under that section as amended by paragraph 4 of Schedule 4 to the 1992 Act.
