Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Offenders (Prescribed Devices) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 9th August 1993.

Section 2

The following devices are prescribed devices for the purposes of section 20 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988—
(a) a device designed or adapted for recording a measurement of the speed of motor vehicles activated by means of sensors or cables on or near the surface of the highway;
(b) a device designed or adapted for recording a measurement of the speed of motor vehicles activated by means of a light beam or beams.
