Payments to Redundant Churches Fund Order 1993

Section 1

The amount to be paid to the Redundant Churches Fund by the Church Commissioners during the five year period 1 April 1994 to 31 March 1999 shall not exceed £3,100,000.

Section 2

The amount of the payments which may be made to the said Fund under section 52(1)(a) of the said Measure out of the one-third of the net proceeds of sale and premiums shall not exceed £2,500,000 and such payments shall be applied towards the £3,100,000 referred to in paragraph 1.

Section 3

Subject to paragraph 4 hereof, the balance of the said amount of £3,100,000 shall be paid by way of grants made to the said Fund by the Church Commissioers under section 44(10) of the said Measure out of their General Fund.

Section 4

A payment on account of the said £3,100,000 shall be made to the said Fund only when the Church Commissioners are satisfied that (1) the payment is an appropriate proportion of a specific sum of money needed by the Fund and (2) the balance of that sum will be paid to the Fund out of moneys provided by Parliament.

Section 5

So far as moneys available for allocation under section 52(1)(b) of the said Measure shall on the 31 March 1994 exceed the sum of £250,000 they shall be paid to the said Fund in addition to the sum of £1,200,000 specified in the Payments to Redundant Churches Fund Order 1988 .

Section 6

This Order may be cited as the Payments to Redundant Churches Fund Order 1993 and shall come into force, on the thirty-first day of March 1994.
