Section 1

These Rules may be cited as the Registrationand Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1993.

Section 2

In the Registration and Enrolment Rules 1976 (which in their original form are scheduled to the General Optical Council (Registrationand Enrolment Rules) Order of Council 1977 ) the Appendix shall be amended by replacing the figures £40, £23and £14 on each occasion where they appear by the figures £45, £26and £16 respectively.

Section 3

(1) The whole of the following Rules (which are already spent, or will be spent on the coming into force of these Rules) are hereby revoked—

The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1980 ,

The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1981 ,

The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1982 ,

The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1987 ,

The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1990 , and

The Registration and Enrolment (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1990 .

(2) Rule 2(8) of the Registrationand Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1979 and Rule 2(iii) of the Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1985 (which are also spent) are hereby also revoked.

Section 4

These Rules shall come into force on 1st April 1993and shall apply to applications for registration, enrolment, retention, restorationand transfer to take effect on or after 1st April 1993 whether made before, on or after that date.
