Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the National Health Service (Determination of Regions) Amendment Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.

(2) In this Order, “the 1981 Order ” means the National Health Service (Determination of Regions) Order 1981 .

Section 2 Variation of regions

North West Thames Region is varied by excluding, and South West Thames Region is varied by including, the borough of Spelthorne in the county of Surrey.

Section 3 Amendment of the 1981 Order

(1) In article 2 of the 1981 Order the words from “, references therein to wards” to “Order 1978” shall be omitted.

(2) In consequence of the variation of regions effected by article 2 of this Order, in column (3) of the Schedule to the 1981 Order—

(a) in the entry relating to North West Thames Region the words from “and, in the county” to the end of the entry shall be omitted;

(b) in the entry relating to South West Thames Region the words “(except the borough of Spelthorne)” shall be omitted.
