Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Social Security Act 1989 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1994.

(2) In this Order references to “the Act” are references to the Social Security Act 1989.

Section 2 Appointed day

The day appointed for the coming into force of—

(a) the provisions of the Act specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order, for the purposes only of giving effect to the provisions of the Act specified in Part II of that Schedule;

(b) the provisions of the Act specified in Part II of the Schedule to this Order; and

(c) section 23 of the Act in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in the Schedule to this Order,

is 23rd June 1994.
