Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Geography) (England) (Amendment) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st August 1994.

Section 2

The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Geography) (England) ( No. 2) Order 1991 is amended as follows:

(a) in article 1(1) for “articles 2 to 5” there is substituted “articles 2 to 4”;

(b) in article 1(4)—

(i) the reference to and the definition of “Document 2” are omitted;

(ii) for “, third and fourth” there is substituted “and third”;

(iii) for “(a) to (d)” there is substituted “(a) to (c)”; and

(iv) for “Documents 1 and 2” there is substituted “Document 1”;

(c) article 5 is omitted;

(d) in article 6(1) for “Documents 1 and 2” there is substituted “Document 1”;

(e) articles 7(2) and 8(2) are omitted;

(f) after article 8 there is inserted the following article—

(8A) In Document 1, the references to key stage 4 in the foreword, contents and title pages are omitted; in attainment targets 1-5 the statements of attainment for levels 8-10 are omitted; and the programme of study for key stage 4 is omitted.

(g) in article 9 for “Documents 1 and 2” there is substituted “Document 1” and “and the other provisions so printed in Document 2” is omitted.
