Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemption) (Gillingham Borough Council) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 14th September 1994.

Section 2 Exemption of defined activities carried out by Gillingham Borough Council

The activities mentioned in paragraph (2) shall not be treated as defined activities so long as they are carried out by Gillingham Borough Council in their area before 1st September 1995.

(2) The activities are–

(a) collection of refuse;

(b) cleaning (other than cleaning of buildings); and

(c) maintenance of ground undertaken at Gillingham Cemetery, Woodlands Road.
