This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting (Unlicensed Television Services) Exemption Order 1994 and shall come into force on 5th January 1995.

The Broadcasting (Unlicensed Television Services) Exemption Order 1994
Section 13(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1990 (prohibition on providing television services without a licence) shall not apply to the news and information service provided by BBC World Service Television Limited (or any other company controlled by the British Broadcasting Corporation within the meaning of Part I of Schedule 2 to the Broadcasting Act 1990) together with European Channel Broadcasting Limited and the entertainment service provided by the latter known, at the date of the making of this Order, as “BBC World” and “BBC Prime” respectively.
