Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) Amendment Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 6th April 1994.

(2) In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations ” means the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979 .

Section 2 Amendment of the principal Regulations

(1) The principal Regulations shall be further amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation.

(2) In regulation 7 (lower and upper earnings limits for Class 1 contributions) —

(a) for the date “6th April 1993” there shall be substituted the date “6th April 1994”; and

(b) for the sums “£56” and “£420” there shall be substituted respectively the sums “£57” and “£430”.

(3) In regulation 123D(1)(b) (special provisions as to volunteer development workers) for “6.6 per cent.” there shall be substituted “5.6 per cent.”.
