Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Regional and District Health Authorities) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 1st April 1994.

(2) In these Regulations–

“the 1990 Regulations ” means the Regional and District Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 1990 ;

“the 1992 Regulations ” means the National Health Service (Appellate and Other Functions) Regulations 1992 .

Section 2 Amendment of the 1992 Regulations

(1) In regulation 2(1) of the 1992 Regulations (interpretation)–

(a) the definition of “the Yorkshire Regional Health Authority” shall be omitted;

(b) after the definition of “the Medical Regulations” there shall be inserted the following definition:–

“the Northern and Yorkshire Regional Health Authority” means the Regional Health Authority of that name established by the National Health Service (Regional Health Authorities) Order 1994 ;

(2) In regulations 3 and 4 of the 1992 Regulations (functions exercisable, and exercise of functions, by Yorkshire Regional Health Authority) for each reference to the Yorkshire Regional Health Authority there shall be substituted a reference to the Northern and Yorkshire Regional Health Authority.

Section 3 Amendment of the 1990 Regulations

For Part I of Schedule 1 to the 1990 Regulations (District Health Authorities in England with a university member) there shall be substituted the new Part I set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
