Section 1

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections (Northern Ireland) (Amendment) Regulations 1994.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.

(3) These Regulations extend to Northern Ireland only.

Section 2

In the right-hand column of Schedule 1 (application with modifications of provisions of the Representation of the People Acts) to the European Parliamentary Elections (Northern Ireland) Regulations 1986 —

(a) the modifications of sections 49 and 50 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 , as applied by the left-hand column of that Schedule, shall be omitted; and

(b) in subsection (2) of section 76 (limitation of election expenses) of that Act, as substituted, for the words “£10,000” and “4.3p” , there shall be substituted the words “£13,175” and “5.7p”, respectively.

Section 3

In the European Parliamentary Elections (Northern Ireland) (Amendment) Regulations 1989 , regulation 2(a) shall be omitted.
