This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reorganisation (Wales) (Consequential Amendments) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 17th February 1995.

The Local Government Reorganisation (Wales) (Consequential Amendments) Order 1995
In this Order, “the 1988 Act ” means the Local Government Act 1988 .
In subsection (2) of section 1 of the 1988 Act (meaning of “local authority”), omit “and Wales” and (in paragraph (a)) “a community council”, and after that subsection insert—
(2A) In the application of this Part to Wales, “local authority” in subsection (1) above means a county council, a county borough council or a community council.
In relation to any work carried out or proposed to be carried out at any time before 1st April 1996, section 1(2A) of the 1988 Act (as inserted by article 3 above) shall have effect as if for the words “county borough” there were substituted the word “district”.
