Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Mandatory Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st June 1995.

Section 2

The Education (Mandatory Awards) ( No. 2) Regulations 1993 are amended in paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 3 by adding the following sub-paragraph to the end: “(v) any payment made to the student as a “Career Development Loan” in pursuance of section 2 of the Employment and Training Act 1973 ”.

Section 3

The Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 1994 are amended—

(a) in paragraph 16(c) of Schedule 2 by substituting for the words “previous course in respect of which he held an award (or was in receipt of a grant under arrangements made under section 2 of the Education Act 1962)” the words “full-time course of further or higher education which he had started before 1st September 1995”; and

(b) in paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 3 by adding the following sub-paragraph to the end: “(v) any payment made to the student as a “Career Development Loan” in pursuance of section 2 of the Employment and Training Act 1973”.
