Section 1 Title and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Extraction Solvents in Food (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 30th June 1995.

Section 2 Amendment of the Extraction Solvents in Food Regulations 1993

The Extraction Solvents in Food Regulations 1993 shall be amended as follows—

(a) in sub-paragraph (e) of paragraph (2) of regulation 4 (sale of food containing extraction solvents and of extraction solvents), for the number “19” there shall be substituted the number “20”;

(b) immediately after item 19 in Part I of Schedule 1 (permitted extraction solvents) there shall be added, in Column 1, the following item—

“20. Cyclohexane”;

(c) immediately after the entry relating to Propan-1-o1 in Schedule 3 (which specifies maximum residues for extraction solvents in foods containing flavourings prepared from natural flavouring materials by the use of such extraction solvents) there shall be inserted the following entry—
