Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

This Order may be cited as the Adoption (Designation of Overseas Adoptions) (Variation) (Scotland) Order 1995, shall come into force on 10th July 1995 and shall extend only to Scotland.

Section 2 Variation of Adoption (Designation of Overseas Adoptions) Order 1973

The Adoption (Designation of Overseas Adoptions) Order 1973 (designation) shall be varied as follows—

(a) there shall be inserted at the beginning of paragraph (2) of Article 3 the words “Subject to paragraphs (2A) and (2B) of this Article,”;

(b) after paragraph (2) of Article 3 there shall be inserted the following paragraphs—

(2A) This Article applies, as respects any adoption effected on or after 10th July 1995, in relation to any place which, at the time the adoption is effected, forms part of the People’s Republic of China.

(2B) Paragraph (2A) above extends only to Scotland.
