Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the River Nith Salmon Fishery District (Baits and Lures) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st January 1996.

Section 2 Specification of baits and lures and area of application

Natural prawns and shrimps (whether fresh or preserved, dyed or natural colour) and any part thereof are, in relation to the River Nith and its tributaries within the River Nith salmon fishery district upstream of a line drawn across the River Nith between grid reference 97507483 (the house situated at 28 Riverside Drive, Dumfries) and grid reference 97537470 (the north east corner of Kingholm Playing Fields, Dumfries), specified for the purposes of the definition of “rod and line” in section 24(1) of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Protection) (Scotland) Act 1951 .
