Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Application of Enactments) (Scotland) (No.2) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 14th November 1995.

Section 2 Application of enactments

(1) Section 2 of the Public Works Loans Act 1965 and section 3(11) of, and Schedule 4 to, the National Loans Act 1968 shall, in the period prior to 1st April 1996, apply to new local authorities as they apply to local authorities in Scotland.

(2) In paragraph (1) above, “new local authorities” means the councils in respect of which an ordinary election of councillors took place on 6th April 1995 in terms of section 5(2) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994.
