Section 1

The said regulations are hereby approved.

Section 2

The General Medical Council (Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations) Order of Council 1987 and the General Medical Council (Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations) (No.2) Order of Council 1987 are hereby revoked.

Section 3

This Order may be cited as the General Medical Council (Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations) Order of Council 1995.

Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Medical Practitioners Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st May 1996.

(2) In these regulations “the principal Regulations ” means the Medical Practitioners Registration (Fees) Regulations 1985 .

Section 2 Amendment of regulation 5 of the principal Regulations

In regulation 5 of the principal Regulations, in paragraphs (1) and (2), for the words “regulation 7, 8 or 9” substitute “regulation 8 or 9”

Section 3 Regulations revoked

Regulations 5(4) and 7 of the principal Regulations are hereby revoked.

Section 4 Application of these Regulations

(1) Nothing in these Regulations shall result in an annual retention fee becoming payable by a person whose name is included in the Overseas List in respect of any period before his first due date falling when these Regulations are in force.

(2) Expressions used in paragraph (1) and in the principal Regulations shall have the same meanings in the former as in the latter.
