Section 1

This Order may be cited as The City of Sunderland College (Incorporation) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st January 1996 (“the Commencement Date”).

Section 2

On the Commencement Date there shall be established a body corporate called “City of Sunderland College” for the purpose of establishing and conducting from the operative date a new educational institution of that name (to be formed by the merger of Monkwearmouth College, Sunderland and Wearside College, Sunderland).

Section 3

The “operative date” in relation to the further education corporation established by this Order shall be 1st August 1996, and the corporation shall conduct City of Sunderland College from that date.
