Section 1

The Borough of Trafford (Eastern Spine Canal Bridge) Scheme 1993 is hereby confirmed.

Section 2

The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as “the Scheme”) is set out in the Schedule hereto, and copies of the scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY and at the offices of Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford, Greater Manchester M32 0YT.

Section 3

The Scheme will become operative on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

Section 4

This instrument may be cited as the Borough of Trafford (Eastern Spine Canal Bridge) Scheme 1993 Confirmation Instrument 1995.

Section 1

The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the Bridgewater Canal the bridge specified in the Schedule to this Scheme as part of the highway which they are proposing to construct (known as the Eastern Spine) as part of the improvements to the A5081 Trafford Park Road/Bridgewater Boulevard in the area of Stretford and Old Trafford in the said Borough of Trafford.

Section 2

The Council are also authorised in connection with the construction of the said bridge to divert by reduction of the width that part of the navigable watercourse specified in the said Schedule in the manner specified in that Schedule.

Section 3

This Scheme may be cited as “The Borough of Trafford (Eastern Spine Canal Bridge) Scheme 1993”.
