Section 1Citation, commencement and transitional provisions

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (General) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 10th April 1995.

(2) These Regulations apply to applications for legal aid made on or after 10th April 1995 and applications made before that date shall be treated as if these Regulations had not come into force.

Section 2Amendments to the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (General) Regulations 1989

Schedule 4 to the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (General) Regulations 1989 shall be amended by substituting for the words from “by which his” to the end, the words “by which his average weekly disposable income exceeds £47; but any applicant or appropriate contributor whose average weekly disposable income does not exceed £48 shall not be liable to pay a contribution.”.
