Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order shall be known as The Miners' Welfare Act 1952 (Transfer of Functions of Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation) Order 1995 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

(2) In this Order—

“the 1952 Act ” means the Miners' Welfare Act 1952; and

“the Social Welfare Organisation” has the same meaning as in the 1952 Act .

Section 2 Transfer of Functions of Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation

The persons to whom the functions of the Social Welfare Organisation shall be transferred in accordance with section 12(3) of the 1952 Act shall be the trustees, in their capacity as such trustees, of the trust which is known as “The Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation” and is registered with the Charity Commissioners under the Charities Act 1993 with the number 1015581.
