This Order may be cited as the Health Authorities (Wales) Establishment Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st April 1996.

The Health Authorities (Wales) Establishment Order 1996
(1) There shall be five Health Authorities in Wales, each of which shall be known, in addition to the title “Health Authority”, by the name specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order, such name appearing to the Secretary of State appropriately to signify the connection of the Health Authority with the area for which the authority is to act.
(2) Each such Health Authority shall act for the area specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this Order opposite to its name in column 1.
(3) Each such Health Authority shall have the title in Welsh of “Awdurdod Iechyd” and be known in Welsh by the name immediately after the English name in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order.
