Section 1 Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Contracting Out (Administration of Civil Service Pension Schemes) Order 1996 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“the 1972 Act ” means the Superannuation Act 1972 ; and

“the function” means the function conferred by section 1(1) or under section 1(2) of the 1972 Act of administering schemes made under section 1 of that Act and from time to time in force.

Section 3 Contracting out of function

The function may be exercised by (or by employees of) such person as may be authorised in that behalf by the Minister or office-holder whose function it is.
