Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Scottish Examination Board (Amendment No.2) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 19th August 1996.

Section 2 Amendment of the Scottish Examination Board Regulations 1981

In regulation 13 of the Scottish Examination Board Regulations 1981 –

(a) in paragraph (5), there shall be inserted after the word “land” the words “or where the Secretary of State has given consent under paragraph (7)”; and

(b) after paragraph (6), there shall be inserted–

(7) The Board shall have power to enter into all types of borrowing transaction not authorised by paragraphs (5) and (6), provided that in each case the Secretary of State has first consented to the terms of the borrowing instrument.
