Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Tyne Riverside Enterprise Zones (North Tyneside) (Designation) (No. 2) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 26th August 1996.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order:

“the council” means the North Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council;

“map” means a map prepared in duplicate, numbered, marked “Map referred to in the Tyne Riverside Enterprise Zones (North Tyneside) (Designation) (No. 2) Order 1996”, and signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment, one duplicate of which has been deposited and is available for inspection at the principal offices of the council, and the other at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment.

Section 3 Enterprise zones in North Tyneside

(1) In this article, “zone area” means an area—

(a) to which a Scheme listed in column 1 below relates; and

(b) the boundaries of which are represented by the outside edge of a black line edged internally with a stippled band on the map bearing the number specified in relation to that Scheme in column 2.

(2) Each zone area is hereby designated as an enterprise zone, and the council is hereby designated as the enterprise zone authority for that zone.

Section 4 Period of designation

Designation under this Order shall take effect on 26th August 1996, and each designated area shall remain an enterprise zone for a period of 10 years from that date.
