Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Police Act 1996 (Scotland) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 21st August 1996.

(2) This Order shall extend to Scotland only.

Section 2 Appointed day

For the purposes of paragraph 11(1) of Schedule 8 to the Police Act 1996, the Secretary of State hereby appoints 22nd August 1996 as the day when the provisions of the Police Act 1996 mentioned in sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph 11 of Schedule 8 to that Act shall cease to have effect subject to the modifications set out in that sub-paragraph.
